Houses made from bamboo or wood in

the early period of the military dependents’
village is long gone now. Since the beginning of
1978, the government attempted to transform
these old villages into government-owned homes,

and in 1986, the “Old Military Dependents’
Village Eight Year Four Term Relocation by
the Ministry of Defense Plan” was launched.
Days later, the Kaohsiung government began the

process of rebuilding and relocating the Daliao
villages, relocating them to the Fengshan Jienguo
Government-Owned House while providing
financial aid to those that wished to buy already-

built houses. The old villages have almost been
cleared out and only memories are left. 眷村文物。
