A MOON-LIKE LANDSCAPE

田寮區大部分屬於泥岩地形，為臺灣最典型的青灰岩地
質，經雨水侵蝕作用下，出現無數深溝峻谷，崎嶇難行，不
利耕作，地理學上又稱為「惡地」。泥岩地質的特殊地貌，營

造了宛如身在月球的蒼涼感，被人們稱為「月世界」，總是
成為鏡頭下的焦點。

Tianliao is characterized by its mudstone formations and countless
gullies created by the erosion of rain, which make the land rugged
and hostile to farming. This is known as “badlands” in geological
terms. Its bleak and bare landscape is redolent of the moon, so it has
been dubbed “Moon World” in Chinese and become a common
photographic subject in Taiwan.
