WHAT YOU CANNOT MISS IN ALIAN

人們路過阿蓮，絕不會錯過這裡的水果，從芒果、番茄、釋迦，到蜜
棗、龍眼、芭樂等，由於品質佳，銷路遍佈全臺，更贏得「水果之鄉」
的稱號。此外，號稱中國傳統三大偶戲的傀儡戲、布袋戲、皮影戲，在

阿蓮區均有相當完備的發展傳承，充分展現常民生活風貌，在傳統藝
術逐漸消失的今日，更顯彌足珍貴。

Visitors to Alian are sure to see its local fruit, such as mangos, tomatoes,
sugar-apples, jujubes, and guavas—fruit so good that it is sold everywhere in
Taiwan, giving Alian is its moniker as the “hometown of fruits.” In addition
to that, Chinese cultural assets such as string puppetry, glove puppetry and
shadow plays are well preserved and passed down in the district, despite the
overall decline of traditional Chinese art in Taiwan. These shows reflect the
local daily life and make it all the more worthwhile to treasure Taiwan’s
cultural legacy.
