輔英與大寮的結緣要推到1968年，輔英
獲准升格專科學校後，東港校區因腹地狹小
決定遷校。當遷地設校的消息傳出之後，許

多高屏地區的鄉鎮，都表達高度歡迎之意。
最後選擇在大寮落腳，原東港校區則改建為
附設醫院，肩負在校生實習、畢業生就業及
從事地區醫療服務的功能。
