Examining Daliao from Geographic Names

After organization by cultural historians, the origin and etymology of Daliao’s geographic
names can roughly be divided into the following categories:
1. Region (for example: Yongfang refers to having come from Yongfong Township of Fujen’s
Nanjing County)
2. Blood (for example: Shi Public House refers to the settlement of the Taoist priest families)
3. Reclamation (Tienliao refers to building huts)
4. Politics (for example: Fuxing refers to the military dependents’ village)
